LH Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters, Pilot Project for Improving Living Environment of Purchased Rental Housing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters (Head Lee Jae-ro) announced on the 28th that it has implemented a pilot project to improve the residential environment targeting multi-family purchased rental housing located in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu.
Compared to apartment-type rental housing with on-site management, multi-family purchased rental housing managed through regional management companies has been criticized for weak management services such as separated waste collection due to its characteristics.
Accordingly, LH launched the ‘Purchased Rental Housing Residential Environment Improvement Pilot Project’ to create comfortable and livable purchased rental housing.
This pilot project mainly focused on the disposal of accumulated waste. One complex with concerns about safety accidents due to illegal waste accumulation was selected as the pilot site, and about 10 people including LH and Residential Happiness Support Center staff participated to dispose of the accumulated waste and conduct environmental cleanup activities around the area.
LH plans to gradually expand the residential environment improvement projects for purchased rental housing.
Along with the disposal of illegally accumulated waste, multiple management measures will be implemented simultaneously for fundamental environmental improvement, including ▲changing the evaluation system of entrusted management offices focusing on residential environment management status ▲recruiting and operating ‘Our Neighborhood Environmental Guardians’ with resident participation ▲expanding management facilities such as CCTV.
Through this project, LH stated, “We expect to eliminate negative perceptions of purchased rental housing such as poor management and waste abandonment and to enhance residents’ housing satisfaction,” adding, “We will do our best to improve residents’ awareness and ensure housing stability to prevent recurrence in the future.”
