Jangseong-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution for National Balanced Development Project...The Only One in Jeonnam

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 28th that it was selected as an excellent institution at the ‘2021 Balanced Development Project Excellence Awards Ceremony’ hosted by the National Balanced Development Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Balanced Committee).

The Balanced Committee, a presidential agency, annually awards projects and institutions that have greatly contributed to national balanced development through the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT) and an evaluation advisory group.

The awards target balanced development projects nationwide and distinguish the best through a rigorous three-stage evaluation process (document review, field investigation, and final evaluation).

This year, nine related agencies from central government ministries and 18 local governments were selected, with Jangseong-gun being the only institution in the Gwangju and Jeonnam region to receive the honor of an excellent institution award.

The field in which the county was selected is ‘Resident Participation.’

The Balanced Committee highly evaluated ▲ the harmonious cooperation between residents and administration that successfully led the nation’s balanced development ▲ and the regional economic growth brought about through balanced development projects led by residents.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “Governance (public-private partnership) is the driving force behind the development of Yellow City Jangseong and a beacon that lights the future with hope. We will continue to firmly establish an advanced balanced development model where residents take the lead and administration supports, enhancing the value of a united new Jangseong.”
