'No Smoking Within 10M Around Bus Stops'... Geochang-gun Establishes Smoke-Free Environment
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it installed no-smoking signs at 24 locations, including bus stops, to prevent damage caused by secondhand smoke and create a smoke-free environment.
No-smoking area signs were installed in no-smoking parks and bus stops designated under the "Geochang-gun Ordinance for Creating a Smoke-Free Environment and Preventing Damage from Secondhand Smoke." At six schools and daycare centers where existing signs were damaged, replacement and installation of guide signs are underway.
In particular, around the restrooms of Chaek-il-neun Park, where complaints frequently occur, no-smoking banners and guide signs have been posted to continuously promote that smoking in the area is prohibited and subject to a fine of 30,000 KRW.
Additionally, to maximize the effect of no-smoking guidance and spread the no-smoking culture, solar-powered no-smoking lights installed in major parks and government offices in the area will be inspected and repaired as needed.
