Total Prize of 100 Million Won... 60,000 Participants Complete Preliminary Round
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] A golf long-drive competition with a total prize of 100 million KRW will be held on the 6th of next month at the Saemangeum special stadium in Buan-gun, Jeonbuk.
According to 'Jagwang,' the organizer of the competition, the special stadium where the event will take place is 400m long and 120m wide, located near the Saemangeum Promotion Center. The finals, featuring 32 domestic amateur golfers (men and women), will be held here in collaboration with Jeonju Broadcasting. The preliminary rounds were held over five weeks starting from September 18. A total of 58,011 participants, including 40,333 men and 17,678 women, took part from about 1,130 SG Screen Golf stores nationwide.

The top long-drive records in the preliminaries were 377m for men and 254m for women. However, since the finals will be held outdoors where wind conditions affect the game, unlike the indoor screen environment, the distance results may vary. The champion of this competition will receive a prize of 20 million KRW and a trophy. The runner-up will receive 10 million KRW, and the third place will be awarded 3 million KRW.
