Jeju Police to Hold 'Voice Game Event' Until Next Month 19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency (Chief Kang Hwangsoo) announced on the 26th that it will hold an online prize event called ‘Voice Game’ to prevent voice phishing until the 19th of next month.
The ‘Voice Game’ event was planned to easily and enjoyably convey voice phishing prevention methods through a game by parodying the globally popular Netflix drama ‘Squid Game,’ amid the nationwide voice phishing damage amounting to nearly 700 billion won last year and still rampant this year.
The ‘Voice Game’ consists of two games in total.
The first game is an ‘OX game’ to learn about the recently trending voice phishing methods and corresponding prevention methods.
The second game is to listen to phone voices and guess the actual voice of a voice phishing criminal, and anyone can easily guess through the provided hints.
Participants who pass both games will be given a chance to enter a drawing for prizes such as smartwatches, Bluetooth earphones, Jeju Police dolls, and camping chairs.
The ‘Voice Game’ can be accessed and participated in through the event page on PC or mobile devices.
The winners will be announced on the Jeju Police Agency website on the 24th of next month.
A Jeju Police official said, “Voice phishing is becoming increasingly sophisticated and advanced, so anyone can fall victim if they are careless,” and added, “We hope that through this event, people will learn about the recently trending voice phishing methods and prevention techniques and have the luck to win prizes.”
