KOSPI Drops Below 3000 Again Shortly After Opening Due to US Inflation Remarks
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji Yeon-jin] The KOSPI index fell below 3000 shortly after the market opened on the 25th.
The KOSPI started trading at 3001.10, slightly down from the previous trading day, then dropped to 2997.79 within one minute of the opening and is continuing to widen its decline. As of 9:10 a.m., the index was trading at 2984.52, down 21.64 points (0.72%) from the previous day.
Foreign investors and institutions sold net amounts worth 48.9 billion KRW and 66.1 billion KRW respectively, while individual investors bought net amounts worth 114.7 billion KRW.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was at 988.58, down 6.49 points (0.65%) from the previous day. The index started trading at 994.75, down 0.32 points, rose slightly to 995.39 right after the opening, but then turned downward and is trading below 990.

Individual investors purchased net amounts worth 50.8 billion KRW, while foreign investors sold net amounts worth 45 billion KRW, driving the index down. Institutions also recorded net sales worth 4.7 billion KRW.
