65.5% of K Car Consumers Say "I Sell My Car via Mobile in Just One Day"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] K Car, a direct used car company, announced on the 23rd that an analysis of the usage status of its ‘Sell My Car Home Service’ revealed that 65.5% of customers applied to sell their cars via mobile devices such as smartphones over the past three months.
K Car’s Sell My Car Home Service is a personal purchase service that allows customers to easily and conveniently sell their cars without any commission through PC or smartphone.
Customers can simply apply to sell their cars by entering the vehicle number and owner’s name, and a professional vehicle appraiser visits anywhere nationwide, including Jeju Island, according to the customer’s schedule to conduct a detailed inspection and provide a purchase price.
Analysis of sales estimate application data received through the Sell My Car Home Service over the past three months showed that applications via the mobile app accounted for the highest proportion at 65.5%.
The convenience of easily applying for a car estimate through the K Car app on smartphones is considered to have increased mobile usage. This was followed by phone applications, direct visits, and partner locations at 17.8%, and PC applications at 16.7%.
Looking at the ranking of applications by model, among domestic cars, the Hyundai Grandeur HG, which was a best-selling car in the new car market in the past, had the highest number of sales estimate applications. Since it has been 5 to 10 years since its release, it is analyzed that owners are considering selling it to purchase a new car.
Next, the domestic representative compact cars Kia All New Morning and Chevrolet Spark tied for second place. They were followed by Hyundai Avante MD, Hyundai YF Sonata, and Hyundai Avante AD in order.
Examining the status of estimate applications by region, the Hyundai Grandeur HG had the highest number of sales estimate applications in most regions including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeonbuk, Chungbuk, Chungnam, and Jeju.
In Gangwon, Daejeon, and Busan, the Kia All New Morning had the highest number of applications; in Sejong and Jeonnam, the Chevrolet Spark; in Gwangju, the Kia K5; and in Ulsan, the Hyundai Grandeur IG had the highest number of sales estimate applications. The cases of Ulsan and Gwangju are interpreted as showing a different pattern from other regions because Hyundai and Kia production plants are located there, respectively.
Among imported cars, German brand sedans occupied all top five ranks. The representative imported sedan BMW 5 Series (F10) recorded the highest number of sales estimate applications, ranking first, followed by Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W213), BMW 3 Series (F30), Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205), and Audi New A6.
