[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency selected three new companies and one extension company as the "Outstanding Workplaces for Worker Health Promotion Activities" for the first half of 2021.
The new workplaces are ▲Korea East-West Power Honam Power Headquarters, ▲Korea East-West Power Dangjin Power Headquarters, and ▲Samsung Electro-Mechanics Suwon Plant, while the extension workplace is ▲Yeungnam University Medical Center.
The Outstanding Workplaces for Worker Health Promotion Activities is a system that selects excellent workplaces that have made efforts to prevent work-related diseases and promote worker health.
Evaluation is based on 43 items including the establishment of a system for health promotion, the level of awareness of management, organizational culture, and detailed activity records.
The workplaces selected this time received high evaluations in terms of their efforts, such as actively promoting non-face-to-face health promotion activities despite the contraction of face-to-face activities due to the spread of COVID-19, thanks to the high interest and support of management.
Yeungnam University Medical Center, whose selection period was extended, was evaluated as a good example for other workplaces by operating a system-based customized program for risk groups and monitoring the health level of each worker through the establishment of an "Integrated Information System."
There are a total of 84 outstanding workplaces for worker health promotion activities nationwide, which receive benefits such as priority recommendation for government awards.
