KOTRA Publishes Book 'Global Trends Korea Will Enthusiastically Follow in 2022'
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] KOTRA published the book series '2022 Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace' on the 22nd.
The Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace series introduces innovative business cases collected locally by KOTRA employees working at 127 overseas trade centers in 84 countries worldwide. Since 2011, KOTRA has published this book annually to follow global business trends, marking its tenth publication this year.
KOTRA divided the 2022 global trends into four themes and selected ten keywords.
The first theme is 'Healing Society,' with keywords focusing on mental care and the redefinition of family. As digitalization spread due to COVID-19, the number of people feeling fatigue and isolation increased. The book examines the advancement of technology that cares for these individuals' minds and even substitutes family roles.
The second theme is 'New Play.' To cater to people seeking entertainment in a non-face-to-face manner, it covers Hyper Entertainment, Future Food, and Liquor. It introduces various businesses that answer questions about how to gather and enjoy in virtual worlds.
The third theme is 'Future Daily Life.' Through Modular Life, Daily Touch Care, and Smart Town, it introduces innovative technologies related to changes in housing and cities, as well as increasingly important health management, exploring the current state of our digitalized daily lives.
The last theme is 'Coexistence Society.' It presents global efforts to solve scattered environmental issues through Conscious Fashion, the War on Water, and the Zero Economy. In particular, it offers insights into innovative ideas to address water shortages and changes in the fashion industry centered on values.
KOTRA includes 3 to 5 business cases per keyword, introducing a total of 36 business cases. These range from meditation wearable devices to vests that convey the tactile sensation of sound, and wine aged in space, showcasing diverse examples from around the globe.
To commemorate the book publication, KOTRA will also hold the '2022 Global Business Trends Online Briefing' on the 16th of next month. The briefing will cover trend changes in global, economic, consumer, and technology fields, and registration is available on the KOTRA Overseas Market News website.
Yoo Jung-yeol, President of KOTRA, said, "As non-face-to-face interactions accelerate, people increasingly prioritize emotions, and the role of technology has grown even more." He added, "We hope this newly published book helps readers learn how to respond to these changes and gain inspiration for new businesses."
