This comes in the wake of the recent accident in Yeosu, Jeonnam, where the late Hong Jeong-woon, a student attending a specialized high school, died during an internship. The purpose is to examine whether students' safety is being adequately ensured on site.
The Commission had previously recommended to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Employment and Labor in June to guarantee student participation in the school internship process, expand prior guidance and information provision related to internships, and strengthen supervision and guidance to prevent industrial accidents.
