Police Notify Prosecutors of Supplementary Investigation Results on 'Fake Fisheries Businessman'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] It has been reported that the police handed over the supplementary investigation results regarding the bribery case involving Kim Mo (43), who impersonated a fisheries businessman, to the prosecution after two weeks.
A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official said in a phone call with Yonhap News on the 20th, "We notified the prosecution of the supplementary investigation results on the 18th."
Earlier, on the 5th, the police began a supplementary investigation following the prosecution's request for additional explanations regarding the process and procedures of obtaining some evidence. However, the police did not specify which evidence this pertained to.
Kim, who was under investigation for a large-scale fraud charge, caused a stir by revealing that he had provided money and gifts to prosecutors and journalists.
Previously, on the 9th of last month, the police sent six individuals, including former special prosecutor Park Youngsoo (69) and former Chosun Ilbo editorial writer Lee Donghoon (51), who received money and gifts from Kim, to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the "Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Graft" (Improper Solicitation and Graft Act).

Additionally, a certain editorial writer Lee Mo (49) of a major central daily newspaper, who borrowed a luxury car free of charge, and reporter Jung Mo of a general programming channel, who had their graduate school tuition paid for, were also sent to the prosecution.
