Muan-gun Operates Walking Club for Daily Life with Private Car No. 11

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 20th that it operated the ‘2021 No. 11 Private Car Lifestyle Walking Club’ for residents of 10 villages over six months from April to September.

The walking club, started as part of the Healthy Living Practice Project, is a group where residents actively practice walking exercises together by walking around their living areas such as village paths, park trails, and farm roads, led by representatives of each village club centered around health clinics located at the village level.

Participants adhered to COVID-19 prevention guidelines by maintaining a distance of more than 1 meter while walking, and the village residents themselves formed clubs to create an atmosphere of walking together.

During the past six months, 148 residents participated in the walking club, and survey results showed high participation rates and satisfaction, with many participants experiencing benefits such as improved physical fitness, alleviation of chronic diseases, and stress relief.

Governor Kim San said, “Walking exercise can be burdensome to do alone, but it is much easier to practice when done together with neighbors,” adding, “We will continue to operate various programs to promote the happiness and health of county residents.”
