Emergency First Aid Training Including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted emergency first aid training including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the 20th at the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of the annex building of the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. The training targeted the general public, public officials, kindergarten teachers, health teachers, and medical institution workers.
This training was held to enhance the initial response capabilities of managers and the general public in emergency situations and to save the precious lives of emergency patients, amid the increasing number of emergency patients suffering from diseases and stress caused by various disasters occurring in our society.
After theoretical education on the basics and importance of first aid and CPR from an emergency medicine specialist at Gyeongsang National University, participants had hands-on practice with CPR and the automated external defibrillator (AED).

Im Ki-young, head of the health center, said, “CPR should ideally never be needed, but if used in an emergency, it can save a precious life. It is crucial to perform CPR accurately without missing the golden time during an emergency to increase the survival rate of critical patients. Through this training, I ask everyone to become life guardians of Hapcheon.”
