Q3 Gwangju Exports Fall 2% Compared to Last Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Exports from the Gwangju region in the third quarter decreased compared to last year.
The Gwangju Main Customs Office announced the export trends for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions in the third quarter of this year.
According to this data, exports amounted to $3.82 billion, down 2.0% compared to the same period last year.
Key industries such as semiconductors (24.1%), home appliances (10.1%), and tires (8.6%) showed strong export performance, while automobiles (-25.0%) and machinery (-25.8%) deteriorated.
The K-Food industry, a future growth sector, recorded $23 million, a decrease of 14.1%.
E-commerce exports showed rapid growth, increasing by 4860.0% to $240,000.
Exports from the Jeonnam region, driven by chemical products and petroleum products, reached $11.561 billion, an increase of 61.6%.
