Wando Coast Guard Illuminates Water Leisure Safety Culture with 'Logojector' Installation

The Wando Maritime Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief An Seong-sik) announced on the 20th that it installed a ‘logo projector’ for safety and publicity purposes to prevent water leisure safety accidents and raise safety awareness among participants due to the increasing demand for nighttime water leisure activities every year.

The ‘logo projector’ is a device installed on streetlights, etc., that projects specific logos and phrases onto the ground or walls at night.

Among 774 reported water leisure activities over the past three years, nighttime (9 PM to 5 AM) activities accounted for 152 cases (20%), and considering the rapidly increasing demand for nighttime water leisure activities every year, this publicity measure was prepared.

Wando Maritime Police selected Wando New Port, a major entry and exit point for water leisure equipment, as the installation site after comprehensively reviewing the status of water leisure activities and on-site inspections. The logo projector displays phrases for preventing water leisure safety accidents such as ▲pre-departure inspection of leisure equipment ▲wearing life jackets ▲mandatory reporting for activities beyond 10 nautical miles.

A Wando Maritime Police official said, “The logo projector is a useful facility that can remind safety rules even in dark nighttime and will be effective in preventing safety accidents,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to prevent accidents among water leisure participants and spread a culture of safety.”
