Gwangju Seo-gu to Hold 'Blood Donation and Organ Donation Registration Event' on the 22nd
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 20th that it will hold a 'Blood Donation and Organ Donation Registration Event' together with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross on the 22nd.
Blood donation will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on a blood donation bus set up in the parking lot in front of the Traffic Department of Seo-gu Office, targeting Seo-gu public officials and general residents.
Those wishing to participate must bring an ID card. Blood donation is available for those aged 16 to under 70 (men must weigh at least 50 kg, women at least 45 kg), and organ donation is available for those aged 16 and above.
Seo-gu Public Health Center plans to strictly follow quarantine rules such as wearing masks, temperature checks, and social distancing to ensure a safe event.
Public officials who participate in blood donation will be granted a day off and 4 hours of continuous learning credit on the day, while residents will be given 4 hours of volunteer time.
A health center official said, "We hope that many people will join in the spirit of overcoming the blood supply crisis caused by COVID-19 and practicing life sharing together with public officials."
Meanwhile, Seo-gu also conducted a blood donation and organ donation registration campaign at U-Square on the 19th to encourage participation from many residents.
