Lee Jae-myung: "People Power Party's Demand for Daejang-dong Special Prosecutor Is a Time-Delaying Strategy"

On the 18th, Lee appeared as a witness at the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee's audit of Gyeonggi Province held at the new building of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government in Suwon. In response to Rep. Seo Beom-su of the People Power Party's claim that a special prosecutor should be appointed for Daejang-dong, Lee dismissed it as "a time-wasting strategy by the People Power Party."
He added, "The joint investigation team of the police and prosecution should swiftly and strictly uncover the truth and ensure that those involved receive appropriate punishment."

The People Power Party accused Lee of being the mastermind behind Daejang-dong and insisted that he should take responsibility. In response, Lee admitted that he did design the Daejang-dong project but strongly refuted the claim by stating that those who actually gained unfair profits were all people from the People Power Party side.
