Ma Dong-seok's Acting with BTS Music... 'Eternals' OST Includes 'Chingu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] The voice of BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) flows in the Marvel movie "Eternals," which will be released next month.
On the 18th, Walt Disney Company Korea announced that "Eternals" will be released domestically on the 3rd of next month. The movie depicts the story of immortal heroes who have lived without revealing themselves for thousands of years coming together again to fight against Deviants, humanity's oldest enemy, after "Avengers: Endgame."
It was also reported that BTS's song "Friends" will be featured in "Eternals." The tracklist of 15 songs revealed by the Marvel information site "MCU - The Direct" on that day included BTS's "Friends."
"Friends" is a track from BTS's fourth full-length album released in February 2020, which cheerfully portrays the story of same-age friends Jimin and V. The song gained popularity with member Jimin as the producer.
This is the second time a Korean singer's song has been included in a Marvel movie, following "Black Panther" (2018). At that time, Psy's "Hangover" was included in the OST.
"Eternals" is directed by Chloe Zhao, who directed "Nomadland." Ma Dong-seok, Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, and Salma Hayek play characters with amazing abilities such as supersonic speed, mind control, superhuman strength, flight, and matter manipulation.
