Haenam Minam Festival to be Held at Duryunsan Provincial Park from Next Month 12 to 14

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] The Haenam Minam Festival, hosted by Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, will be held under the theme "Taste in Haenam" for three days from the 12th to the 14th of next month at the Duryunsan Provincial Park area.

According to the county on the 15th, this year's third Haenam Minam Festival will be conducted both online and offline to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The county expects that by mid-November, a phased return to normal life with "With Corona" will be promoted, and in line with this, they have decided to prioritize safe festival operation and prepare programs accordingly. It is anticipated that by the end of October, over 80% of Haenam residents will have completed COVID-19 vaccination.

The offline festival venue will limit the number of entrants according to quarantine stages, and only those who have completed vaccination can enter after making a prior reservation. The event will mainly focus on exhibitions and viewing, while experiential events will be conducted by reservation in separate, independent spaces.

The festival will feature a nationwide cooking contest themed around dishes using Haenam's agricultural and marine products such as cabbage, sweet potatoes, seaweed, and abalone, along with a Minam Food Show with stars, Haenam Miso live commerce, Minam Festival busking, and healing concerts.

Exhibition and experiential events include a Minam lunchbox and finger food sales hall, kimchi and Makgeolli making experience centers, shared kitchen cooking experiences, and Haenam Miso sales booths.

Visitors wishing to participate on-site can make reservations starting from the 25th on the Haenam Minam Festival website, and major programs will be broadcast through the festival website as well as Haenam-gun's Facebook and YouTube channels.

Within the event area, the Ttangkkeut Flower Festival featuring chrysanthemum sculptures is being prepared. The exhibition period runs from the 28th of this month to the 28th of next month, and themed exhibition spaces such as a character zone and animal zone will be arranged to provide unique attractions.

County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, "It is expected that the return to normal life from COVID-19 will begin next month, and we will operate the festival as the first sign of hope from Ttangkkeut Haenam to the long-weary people," adding, "We will strictly adhere to phased quarantine measures and thoroughly prepare to make it a safe and healing festival."
