"'Cheoeum Hakgyoro' Mobile Enables Kindergarten Application and Registration"
Mobile Parent Service Starts from the 29th
General Applications Limited to 3 Selections to Prevent Duplicate Admissions
Pre-Registration from November 16, General Registration from the 17th
Online Lottery Function Supported for Additional Recruitment Starting This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] All processes from application, selection, to registration for admission to national, public, and private kindergartens will be available through the 'Cheoeum Hakgyoro' mobile service.
On the 15th, the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service announced that the 'Cheoeum Hakgyoro' service for recruiting new students to national, public, and private kindergartens will start from the 29th.
'Cheoeum Hakgyoro' is a service that allows parents to complete the admission procedures online without visiting the kindergarten. Since the 2020 academic year, all national, public, and private kindergartens have participated. Until last year, the mobile service only allowed checking results, but from this year, it will be expanded to cover the entire admission process. The mobile and PC services operate at different times, so users should check in advance.
From the 29th, parents can sign up as members and pre-register their child's information, and according to the kindergarten new student recruitment schedule starting November 1, they can apply to up to three preferred kindergartens.
Priority recruitment requires qualifications such as low-income status or national veterans, while general recruitment applications can be submitted during the pre-application and main application periods. Since duplicate selection is restricted in general recruitment, careful selection is necessary. If selected by the first-choice kindergarten, the child will be excluded from selection by the second and third choices.
This year, a pre-application period will also be held during the general recruitment to expand parents' selection time and prevent delays caused by simultaneous access congestion. The pre-application period is November 15 for kindergartens located in provinces and November 16 for those in cities. The general recruitment period is from November 17 to 19.
Parents (guardians) who have difficulty applying online can visit the kindergarten during business hours for on-site application, but those who apply on-site cannot check selection results online and must confirm directly with the kindergarten.
This year’s additional recruitment will support online lottery functions just like priority and general recruitment to enhance fairness in selection and reduce the offline lottery burden on kindergartens. The additional recruitment period starts from November 30.
The 'Cheoeum Hakgyoro' mobile service allows comparison of three kindergartens on one screen and provides a map search function to find nearby kindergartens by entering an address. Authentication methods have been expanded to include financial certificates and Digital OnePass in addition to the joint certificate. On the mobile service, users can log in by authenticating with their mobile phone number.
