Gwangyang-si Women's Association Delivers Healing Plant Pots to Small Business Owners
Leading the Promotion of Women's Social Participation and the Resolution of Community Issues
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Women’s Association of Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 14th that on the 13th, they personally planted 400 healing plant pots at Chowon Farm in Okryong-myeon and delivered them to the Gwangyang Small Business Association.
This event was held as part of the 2021 Gwangyang City Gender Equality Week commemorative side events to alleviate the depression of small business owners going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to support the difficulties faced by flower farmers.
The Women’s Association attached plants with stress-relieving and air-purifying functions along with encouraging message phrases and delivered them to 400 small business owners in Gwangyang-eup, Jungma-dong, and Gwangyeong-dong.
Yoon Young-kyung, representative of the Gwangyang City Small Business Association, said, “Thank you for giving encouraging messages and flower pots to small business owners who are going through difficulties,” and added, “We will look for activities that small business owners can also contribute to the local economy in the future.”
Kim Ji-yeon, president of the Women’s Association, said, “I hope this will be a small comfort and encouragement to small business owners going through difficult times,” and stated, “We will become a women’s organization that spreads positive influence to create a warm and happy city.”
Bang Ki-tae, director of the Education and Childcare Center, said, “Thank you to the women for actively participating in social activities through the gender equality event and taking the lead in local community issues,” and added, “I believe small business owners who are going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic will gain strength through the healing plants.”
