Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung, Jo In-sung Attend Gangneung Film Festival
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung are heading to Gangneung.
According to the 3rd Gangneung International Film Festival 2021 (GIFF 2021) on the 13th, Lee Jung-jae and Lee Yoo-mi, the leads of "Squid Game," along with Jung Woo-sung, Ahn Sung-ki, Jo In-sung, Kang Soo-yeon, and Ryu Seung-ryong will attend the opening ceremony held at the Gangneung Arts Center on the 22nd. The opening host will be Yeon Woo-jin, who is from Gangneung.
The opening film will be "Strawberry Mansion," and a complex art performance titled "Modern Gangneung," which combines footage capturing Gangneung 40 years ago on film with a live performance, will also be presented.
This year’s international feature competition final jury includes Idir Sergin, co-chairman of the Cannes Film Festival Acid Khan, and directors Albert Birney and Kentucker Audley of the opening film "Strawberry Mansion," Benjamin Illos, programmer of the Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight, and Ricardo Zelli, executive director of the Florence Korean Film Festival, who will visit Korea and walk the red carpet.
Additionally, actors Kang Soo-yeon, Kwon Yul, Ki Joo-bong, Kim Min-jae, Ryu Seung-ryong, Bada, Park Myung-hoon, Park Jung-ja, Ahn Sung-ki, Yang Dong-geun, Ye Ji-won, Oh Ji-ho, Lee Jung-jae, Im Won-hee, Jeon No-min, Jung Woo-sung, Jo In-sung, Choi Soo-im, Han Ye-ri, and directors Kim Jin-yoo, Kim Han-min, Shin Su-won, Lee Jeong-hyang, Lee Chang-dong, Lee Hyun-seung, and Choi Hana will attend.
Film festival chairpersons from Korea will also attend, including Lee Yong-gwan, chairman of the Busan International Film Festival; Heo Moon-young, executive director of the Busan International Film Festival; Jung Ji-young, organizing chairman of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival; Shin Cheol, executive director of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival; Lee Jun-dong, former executive director of the Jeonju International Film Festival; Byun Jae-ran, organizing chairman of the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival; Park Kwang-soo, executive director of the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival; Jo Sung-woo, executive director of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival; Park Kwang-soo, executive director of the Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival; Oh Dong-jin, operating chairman of the Wildflower Film Awards; and Dalsy Parket, executive director of the Wildflower Film Awards.

Film festival heads from around the world visiting Korea to attend the "Gangneung Forum" will also be present. This includes keynote speaker Banja Kaludjer?i?, executive director of the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and Sabrina Baracetti, executive director of the Udine Far East Film Festival.
