Four New Resident Businesses Selected for This Year's Tourangdure Project

Goheung-gun, Tourism Dure Project and Tourism Industry Full of Vitality

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jung-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 13th that four new resident businesses were selected in the "2021 Tourism Dure New Resident Business" contest, revitalizing the tourism industry, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.

Tourism Dure is a project promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to create a regional tourism ecosystem. It supports local residents to voluntarily and cooperatively manage tourism businesses by utilizing various tourism resources with unique local characteristics such as lodging, food and beverage, travel, and souvenirs.

Additionally, the Tourism Dure PD, who is responsible for this project, plays a key role by discovering tourism businesses and frequently communicating and cooperating with resident businesses from the preparation of business plans until they become self-sufficient.

The newly selected resident businesses this time include ▲ Healing travel experience combining Goheung’s tourism resources and cultural arts resources (Lala Travel) ▲ Sea and freshwater fishing experience combined with farm stay lodging products (Kkotdam Bada) ▲ Surfing experience at Namyeol Sunrise Beach integrated with the tourism industry (I Love NY Surf) ▲ Youth educational travel experience exploring Goheung’s representative tourist sites in English (Sonamu Travel), which will receive customized programs according to their growth stages for up to five years (basic 3 years + extension 2 years).

The four resident businesses selected in 2020 are ▲ Sinchon Village (lodging) ▲ Godam Agricultural Corporation (experience) ▲ Goheung NY (travel) ▲ Deulgukhwa Agricultural Corporation (experience), and they are currently receiving customized programs according to their growth stages, accelerating the cultivation of solid tourism businesses.

Tourism Dure PD Jung Ji-young said, “These days, many young people interested in the Tourism Dure project visit, so I feel rewarded despite busy days,” and added, “Even if the support period for the Tourism Dure project operated by the Korea Tourism Organization ends in the future, if Goheung-gun continues the project, the tourism industry will establish itself as a source of farm income.”
