IHG Hotels & Resorts Opens Second 'Boco Hotel' in Seoul Gangnam, South Korea
'Boco Gangnam' Aiming to Open Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Global hotel company IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) will open its second Boco hotel in South Korea next year in Gangnam, Seoul.
On the 13th, IHG announced, "We will open 'Boco Gangnam' in Gangnam, Seoul, in the second quarter of next year, with a total of 151 rooms." Boco Gangnam is the second Boco hotel in South Korea announced by IHG this year following 'Boco Pyeongtaek.' Based on the opening date, it will be the first Boco hotel. IHG has partnered with Yongchang Industry and will operate the hotel under the Boco brand.
The hotel will also feature an 85-seat cafe and bar, three meeting rooms covering approximately 600㎡ (180 pyeong), and a fitness center. IHG stated, "Boco Gangnam, which applies bold and unique designs by modernly reinterpreting traditional Korean styles, will further enhance the stay experience for guests."
Serena Lim, Vice President of Development for Southeast Asia and Korea at IHG, said, "We are proud to introduce Boco Gangnam through our partnership with Yongchang Industry," adding, "Together with Boco Pyeongtaek, announced last July, it will further solidify IHG's growth momentum."
Oh Sang-jun, CEO of Yongchang Industry, said, "We are proud to open Boco Gangnam in partnership with IHG, a global leader in the hotel industry," and added, "We look forward to actively utilizing IHG's experience and infrastructure to vividly realize the Boco brand and contemporary lifestyle experience."
Boco Gangnam is within walking distance of Sinsa Station on the subway and is located about 50 minutes by car from Incheon International Airport. The hotel is surrounded by popular Seoul attractions such as Hallyu Star Street, Garosu-gil, Apgujeong-dong, and Hangang Park.

The Boco brand is the fourth IHG brand introduced in South Korea, following InterContinental, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express.
