NH Amundi Asset Management, HANARO ETF 2 New Listings Purchase Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] NH-Amundi Asset Management announced that it will hold the event "I Want to Know That, Carbon Emission Permits and the Metaverse" starting from the 13th to coincide with the new listings of two HANARO ETFs.
The event offers one themed ETF share on a first-come, first-served basis to those who purchase 10 or more shares of the two target ETFs, and a subscription event for the HANARO ETF YouTube channel will run until November 30.
The event targets two ETFs: the "HANARO Global Carbon Emission Permits Futures ICE (Synthetic) ETF," listed on September 30, and the "HANARO Fn K-Metaverse MZ ETF," listed on the same day as the announcement.
The HANARO Global Carbon Emission Permits Futures ICE (Synthetic) ETF tracks the ICE Global Carbon Futures Index Excess Return (KRW converted). This index is calculated based on futures whose underlying assets are carbon emission permits from the U.S. and European markets, provided by ICE, a global commodity exchange and the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.
To achieve carbon neutrality, governments worldwide set greenhouse gas emission targets and allocate emission allowances to domestic companies. Companies that emit less carbon than their allowances can secure and sell the surplus carbon emission permits. Conversely, companies exceeding their allowances must purchase permits from others to meet the set targets. Since the transition of the Paris Agreement, the obligation to reduce carbon emissions, previously limited to developed countries, has expanded globally, and carbon emission permit trading is expected to become more active. The carbon emission permit trading markets are rapidly growing, with new markets opening in countries such as the U.S. and China.
The HANARO Fn K-Metaverse MZ ETF tracks the FnGuide K-Metaverse MZ Index. This product invests in industries that create virtual worlds, which have gained global attention, especially among the MZ generation during the COVID-19 era. The MZ generation, familiar with virtual spaces, enjoys various content and creates added value in virtual reality where real-world products and services are implemented. The metaverse-themed industries can be classified into infrastructure industries such as 5G and data centers; hardware industries including VR devices and semiconductors; software and content industries like artificial intelligence and development engines; and finally, platform industries utilized by consumers.
