[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Jung Ki-sun, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Heavy Industries Group, has been promoted to President.
Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on the 12th that it has carried out a president-level personnel reshuffle to establish a responsible management system.
In this personnel reshuffle, four individuals were promoted to Vice Chairman: Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering President Ga Sam-hyun, Hyundai Heavy Industries President Han Young-seok, Hyundai Oilbank President Kang Dal-ho, and Hyundai Doosan Infracore President Son Dong-yeon. As a result, the shipbuilding division will be led by Vice Chairmen Ga Sam-hyun and Han Young-seok, the energy division by Vice Chairman Kang Dal-ho, and the construction machinery division by Vice Chairman Son Dong-yeon.
A Hyundai Heavy Industries Group official stated, "By appointing vice chairmen to the three core business divisions of shipbuilding, energy, and construction machinery, we aim to establish a responsible management system for each division, while further solidifying shareholder-centered management through synergy creation among affiliates and increasing corporate value."
Additionally, in this personnel reshuffle, four individuals were promoted to President: Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings Vice Chairman Jung Ki-sun, Hyundai Heavy Industries Vice Chairman Ahn Kwang-heon, Hyundai Global Service Vice Chairman Lee Ki-dong, and Hyundai Oilbank Vice Chairman Joo Young-min. The company explained that this move is to actively promote eco-friendly businesses in each division such as hydrogen, ammonia, and fuel cells, and to actively secure future growth engines based on these efforts.
In this reshuffle, President Jung Ki-sun was appointed as CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings and Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, while President Lee Sang-gyun, who leads the shipbuilding business, was appointed as co-CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries alongside Vice Chairman Han Young-seok. Hyundai Oilbank President Joo Young-min was also appointed as co-CEO alongside Vice Chairman Kang Dal-ho.
Furthermore, in the construction machinery division's intermediate holding company Hyundai Genuine, Vice Chairman Son Dong-yeon was appointed as co-CEO alongside the existing President Cho Young-chul. Hyundai Doosan Infracore will be operated under a co-CEO system with President Cho Young-chul and Vice Chairman Oh Seung-hyun. Vice Chairman Choi Cheol-gon was appointed as CEO of Hyundai Construction Equipment. These appointments will be formalized after related procedures such as extraordinary general meetings of shareholders.
