Hana Bank and CU Unveil First Digital Innovation Channel Integrating 'Finance and Retail'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Bank announced on the 12th that it has completed the establishment of a digital innovation channel that integrates finance and retail at the CU Macheon Park branch in Songpa-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with BGF Retail, and has begun full-scale service provision.
The digital innovation channel, which the two companies renewed and first introduced at the CU Macheon Park branch, is expected to greatly improve convenience for customers who need financial services, as there are no general banks or ATMs within 500 meters nearby.
At this branch, an independent space called the Hana Bank Smart Self Zone was separately established to provide financial services. The Hana Bank Smart Self Zone is equipped with one comprehensive financial machine (STM) capable of connecting to bank consultants via video call and one cash dispenser (CD), creating a specialized space where customers can conveniently enjoy comprehensive daily financial services non-face-to-face.
Through this, customers can easily use about 50 different banking services at the STM in the branch, including ▲ traditional ATM services ▲ identity verification and biometric authentication for financial transactions ▲ account opening ▲ passbook reissuance ▲ check card issuance ▲ security card (OTP) issuance, which previously required visiting a branch.
The Hana Bank Smart Self Zone is available 24 hours a day except for some services that require video consultation, and the service fees are at the same level as those charged at general bank 365 corners or branches.
Additionally, the two companies plan to hold various events that create synergy between finance and retail, such as offering additional price discounts and CU membership point accumulation benefits when purchasing products with Hana Card at the branch, to provide greater benefits to customers using the Hana Bank Smart Self Zone.
