A Man in His 50s Arrested for Assaulting an Unknown Elderly Person in Broad Daylight
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 50s who assaulted an elderly person without reason was arrested by the police.
According to the police on the 10th, the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul has booked Mr. A (55) without detention on charges including special injury.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting a man in his 70s sitting in front of a pub in Gwangjin-gu around 3:30 p.m. on the 8th of this month, using an umbrella and his fists. The victim reportedly suffered injuries including a fractured nasal bone.
During the police investigation, Mr. A claimed that "the elderly man provoked me first," but the police judged that Mr. A assaulted the victim without reason while intoxicated. The police who responded to the report took Mr. A for voluntary accompaniment, investigated him, and then released him.
