Steady Local Infections Including Gwangju Job Placement Centers... 17 Confirmed Cases as of 6 PM on the 9th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In Gwangju, COVID-19 confirmed cases surged following administrative orders at job placement centers.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 9th, as of 6 p.m. that day, 17 people were confirmed positive and newly registered as numbers 5165 to 5181.
One more case was added related to a public institution located in Seo-gu, Gwangju. The individual is known to be the spouse of a previously confirmed case.
At the said public institution, two employees who showed symptoms such as fever on the 7th underwent testing and were confirmed positive. Through comprehensive testing, two more cases were confirmed the following day.
Including the cases confirmed on this day, a total of five cases have been classified as related to the Seo-gu public institution.
Seven confirmed cases also emerged through the administrative order for diagnostic testing of job placement center workers and users. Among them, five are known to be Chinese nationals who had contact with family members or others around them.
Regarding the administrative order for job placement centers, a total of 33 cases have been reported, including the seven confirmed on this day.
Three confirmed cases were identified who had overlapping movement paths with confirmed cases from Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, and one case was confirmed while in self-quarantine after contact with an existing confirmed case in Gwangju.
Additionally, three confirmed cases with unknown infection routes were reported.
