Muan-gun Launches Comprehensive Crackdown on Fraudulent Distribution of Muan Sarang Gift Certificates
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Jeonnam Muan-gun (Governor Kim San) announced on the 8th that it will conduct a comprehensive crackdown by the 20th to prevent the illegal distribution of Muan Sarang Gift Certificates and establish a sound distribution order.
Recently, with the increase in the issuance and distribution of gift certificates due to the COVID-19 coexistence national support fund payment, concerns about illegal distribution have been raised. Accordingly, the county plans to conduct on-site inspections of suspicious merchants for illegal distribution after pre-analyzing the exchange details of users and affiliated stores through the integrated gift certificate management system.
The key crackdown items include whether the merchant is in a restricted business category for gift certificate registration (such as gambling industry, large marts, lottery sales, etc.), receiving gift certificates without selling goods or providing services, merchants continuously purchasing gift certificates under another person's name and then exchanging them, and acting as an agent for exchanging gift certificates negatively received by individual merchants.
If clear illegal distribution activities disrupting the distribution order of gift certificates are found as a result of the comprehensive crackdown, administrative measures such as cancellation or suspension of merchant registration, imposition of fines, and recovery of funds will be taken according to the "Act on the Promotion of Use of Local Love Gift Certificates." In cases of suspected serious illegal distribution, an investigation will be requested.
A county official said, "We will continue to eradicate illegal distribution of gift certificates through ongoing monitoring and crackdowns to create a sound and proper distribution environment."
Meanwhile, Muan-gun has been applying a special 10% discount since last year to revitalize the local economy, and this year, it has newly launched mobile (QR) and card gift certificates to contribute to increasing sales of small business owners.
