Jangseong-gun Selects 8 'Tourism Dure Resident Business' Projects... The Most Nationwide

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) achieved a great success with 8 teams selected in the ‘2021 Tourism Dure Resident Business Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Organization.

This is the highest number nationwide among single cities and counties.

According to the county on the 7th, the Tourism Dure project is a program that supports Tourism Dure PDs and resident communities to start and manage tourism businesses unique to the region through cooperation.

This year, local youth Jeong Ji-eun was selected as a Tourism Dure PD for the first time in the county.

The county opened the ‘Tourism Dure Sarangbang,’ a communication channel for resident participants, and actively conducted activities such as holding resident briefings and customized individual consultations based at the Sarangbang.

As a result, a total of 8 resident businesses were finally selected in the Tourism Dure contest.

In particular, it is noteworthy that most of the members are young age groups.

Among the selected companies, 6 teams are youth resident businesses with more than two-thirds of their members under the age of 39.

The selected resident businesses will receive support for 5 years including ▲capacity building ▲new product development ▲management consulting and promotional marketing ▲pilot projects.

The support scale is up to 110 million KRW per business.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “This project is based on excellent local resources and the outstanding capabilities of resident businesses, so successful promotion is expected,” and added, “We will actively cooperate for the sustainable development of the county’s tourism industry.”
