Temporary Transfer Amid Past Violent Incidents...
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Company’s labor and management have agreed to transfer part of the Staria production volume from the Ulsan 4 Plant to the Jeonju Plant. According to industry sources on the 7th, Hyundai Motor’s labor and management held a full meeting of the Employment Stability Committee and reached this agreement.
According to the agreement between both parties, first, 20,000 units of the Palisade, for which overseas production is being considered due to supply shortages, will be increased and produced at domestic plants. Additionally, to resolve the shortage of volume at the Jeonju Plant, the labor and management agreed to allocate about 8,000 units annually of the Staria currently produced at the Ulsan 4 Plant to the Jeonju Plant. The Jeonju Plant will produce these vehicles starting in the second half of next year by receiving body shells supplied from the Ulsan 4 Plant.
Furthermore, labor and management will promote the development of eco-friendly vehicles for the entire production lineup at the Jeonju Plant in the future, while prioritizing the deployment of the currently developing eco-friendly Staria at the Ulsan 4 Plant.
