View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) is reported to have restored the recorded phone call between Cho Seong-eun (former vice chairman of the Future United Party's election committee), the whistleblower of the so-called 'accusation solicitation' scandal, and Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party. In response, Chu Mi-ae, a Democratic Party presidential candidate, raised her voice, saying, "Stop disguising the 'commissioned accusation' as the 'whistleblower solicitation' scandal."
On the morning of the 7th, Candidate Chu posted on her Facebook, stating, "The lie of Kim Woong, who claims he does not even remember, has been exposed," and added, "We were able to find traces of deep involvement beyond anyone else, and no one will believe the claim that he does not remember."
Candidate Chu further commented on the restored recording where Kim said, "We will write and send the accusation letter, so sue the Southern District Prosecutors' Office," saying, "'We' must be identified." She added, "Considering the accusation letter naming Yoon Seok-yeol, Kim Kun-hee, and Han Dong-hoon as victims, it is reasonable to suspect that 'we,' as mentioned by Kim Woong, refers to himself, Son Jun-sung, who became their subordinate, and the three above who would benefit from the accusation. The investigative authorities must clearly clarify the accomplice relationship."
Candidate Chu also emphasized, "It must be revealed 'who' planned and ordered this," adding, "Without someone's instruction or command, this execution would be practically impossible. Naturally, the direct superior, Yoon Seok-yeol, should be the focus of intense questioning regarding his involvement."
Referring to the suspicion that National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won instigated Cho to provide the tip-off, Candidate Chu said, "They brought out the strange frame of 'whistleblower solicitation,' and the PCC has booked (Director Park) for violating the National Intelligence Service Act," and added, "When the People Power Party and Yoon Seok-yeol confirmed the meeting between the whistleblower and Director Park after the commissioned accusation incident broke out, they hastily labeled it as the 'whistleblower solicitation' case. However, judging from Cho Seong-eun's testimony and News Bus's position, it seems difficult to establish prior collusion or whistleblower solicitation with Director Park."
