Patbbang, Korea's First Audio Magazine Monthly Kim Eo-jun September Issue Published
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Podbbang, the largest podcast platform in Korea, announced on the 7th that it has published the September issue of Korea's first audio magazine, 'Wolmal Kim Eo-jun.'
Podbbang's audio magazine is characterized by allowing users to enjoy not only audio but also visual media such as photos and illustrations, unlike traditional podcasts. Since launching 'Wolmal Kim Eo-jun' in January, it has also published 'Joyonghan Saenghwal' by Cine21 reporter Kim Hyeri and 'Sunday Yongmin' hosted by political commentator Kim Yongmin. To date, about 70,000 subscribers have listened to the audio magazine.
The September issue of Wolmal Kim Eo-jun focuses on the recent hot topic of With Corona (gradual return to normal life). It features a total of eight segments, ranging from episodes about pre-COVID-19 pandemic daily life such as travel, fishing, and nature, to popular segments on classics, philosophy, and science that boast high monthly listenership.
In the travel segment, part of the With Corona special, guests include Kang Younghoon, who challenged the Eurasian crossing by motorbike, and Kang Hyuncheol, who traveled to over 30 countries worldwide for 2 years and 7 months in a 2004 Rexton. They share behind-the-scenes stories from their long journeys, comforting listeners weary from the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
In the fishing segment, professional anglers Shin Dongman, who caught a 350kg-class bluefin tuna, Jung Myunghwa, who caught a freshwater stingray in Thailand after 7 years, first-generation fly fishing pro Park Jung, and Lee Younggyu, a reporter from Monthly Fishing Chunchu, appear. They showcase thrilling fishing stories as well as the boasting of anglers from different countries, delivering as much excitement with their storytelling as with the thrill of the catch.
Additionally, the nature segment includes behind-the-scenes stories from PD Park Sooyong, who produced the documentary on the three deaths of Siberian tigers, and PD Kim Jinman, famous for Amazon's Tears. The movie segment analyzes the film The Matrix from the perspectives of a physicist, a Korean literature scholar, and a professional journalist.
Moreover, listeners can enjoy various episodes in philosophy (Lacan), classical music (Lehar and Wagner), classics (Guunmong), and science (minerals) through the September issue of Wolmal Kim Eo-jun available on Podbbang.
