The Commission stated that on the 29th of last month, it confirmed that Jo, who reported the allegations, holds the status of a whistleblower under relevant laws concerning corruption and public interest, and took protective measures for her safety. After receiving the report, the Commission verified the facts regarding the report and the submitted materials.
As a result of the verification, the Commission judged that further investigation by investigative agencies was necessary and sent the case to the CIO in accordance with Article 59, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Prevention of Corruption and the Establishment and Operation of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (Anti-Corruption Commission Act).

The investigative agency that received the case must notify the Commission of the results within 10 days after processing, in accordance with the Anti-Corruption Commission Act and related laws. The whistleblower is protected as a reporter under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act and related laws even during the CIO's investigation.
