Imsil-gun Offers Free Influenza Vaccinations to Prevent Flu
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil County, Jeonbuk (Governor Shim Min) will sequentially conduct influenza vaccinations for the elderly starting from the 12th, following the beginning of vaccinations for children and pregnant women on the 27th of last month, in preparation for the influenza outbreak.
According to the county on the 6th, this year’s vaccination plan targets 13,000 people. Vaccination days will be designated and operated to prevent crowding by dispersing the number of vaccinations and start times through advance reservations, minimizing waiting times and ensuring no inconvenience to civil complaints.
Advance reservations will be conducted starting with seniors aged 65 and older. The reservation period began on the 5th for seniors aged 75 and above, will start on the 12th for those aged 70 to 74, and on the 14th for those aged 65 to 69.
Free vaccinations supported by the county’s own budget are available for residents of social welfare facilities, basic livelihood security recipients, foreign immigrants, and persons with severe disabilities.
Other residents wishing to be vaccinated can receive paid vaccinations, with the cost being 9,500 KRW.
The county plans to conduct vaccinations on weekday mornings to monitor adverse reactions. Vaccinees must bring identification such as an ID card, health insurance card, maternity handbook, medical aid card, or disability certificate to verify eligibility.
Influenza vaccinations can be administered at 15 designated medical institutions, as well as at public health centers, health sub-centers, and health clinics.
Designated medical institutions where vaccinations are available can be checked on the Public Health Center website or the Vaccination Helper site.
Kim Daegon, Director of the Public Health Center, said, “We hope everyone gets vaccinated before winter to proactively respond to the seasonal flu. Since social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 remains important, we ask that people follow the age-specific schedule, make advance reservations, and visit accordingly to avoid early congestion and ensure safe vaccinations.”
