Provincial Assembly Member Im Yong-su Expands Park Facility Benefits for Independence Patriots and Others
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeollanam-do Provincial Council announced on the 6th that the "Partial Amendment to the Jeollanam-do Dolmen Park Admission Fee Collection Ordinance," proposed by Representative Im Yong-su (Hampyeong), passed the review of the 1st Economic Tourism and Culture Committee of the 357th Extraordinary Session.
Representative Im Yong-su stated, "The amendment was proposed to expand admission fee exemption benefits to include independence patriots, veterans, patients with aftereffects of defoliants, special mission patriots, and prisoners of war, in addition to the existing exemption groups such as national merit recipients."
He added, "Expanding free use benefits of park facilities for independence patriots and others is a small token of respect and support for those who have contributed to the nation," emphasizing, "These benefits must be provided mandatorily according to relevant veterans' laws and regulations and should not be omitted."
Through this local ordinance revision, as of the end of August, 13,529 independence patriots (including bereaved families) in Jeollanam-do will be eligible for admission fee exemptions at Jeonnam Dolmen Park, and nationwide, 321,099 people will be additionally included in the exemption target.

The amended ordinance is scheduled to be approved at the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council plenary session on the 14th.
