Direct Installation of Yellow Footprints and Point Marks at Crosswalks Near Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Volunteer Center of Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted the '2021 Gyeongnam Safety Campaign with Korea South-East Power' activity on the 6th in collaboration with Hapcheon Police Station and Hapcheon Family Happiness Counseling Center to ensure the safety of students around Hapcheon Elementary School.
About 20 people attended the campaign, including 10 staff members from the Traffic Management Division and the Women and Youth Division of Hapcheon Police Station, and 4 members from Hapcheon Family Happiness Counseling Center, who directly installed yellow footprints and point marks at crosswalks around Hapcheon Elementary School.
The project carried out that day was the 'Safe Gyeongnam, Creating Safe and Enjoyable Schools for Children' project sponsored by Korea South-East Power, which was selected through a public contest among cities and counties in Gyeongnam.
This project targeted Hapcheon Elementary School, an area with frequent vehicle traffic and concerns about accidents during commuting hours due to illegal parking of vehicles carrying students to school. Yellow footprints signaling elementary students to stop were installed at five crosswalks around the county office intersection, the front gate, and the back gate of the elementary school, and luminous point marks were installed on the fence at the back gate of Hapcheon Elementary School.
