Gokseong-gun Gichadang Ddukbang Market to Open for Second Half on the 9th
Strict Adherence to COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines Ensures Safe Opening as Top Priority
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gichadang Ddukbang Market, Jeonnam's representative flea market held in Gokseong-gun, will reopen on October 9th after its summer break.
The Gichadang Ddukbang Market Cooperative (hereinafter referred to as the 'Cooperative'), which operates the Ddukbang Market, safely held the market 12 times in the first half of this year based on thorough quarantine measures. Building on this know-how, they plan to successfully hold the market in the second half of the year by adhering to even stricter quarantine and safety rules.
In accordance with quarantine guidelines for multi-use facilities, pre-event quarantine activities will be thoroughly inspected and evaluated, with any necessary improvements immediately addressed. The market's operating hours, previously until 6 PM, will be adjusted to 5 PM to shorten the time visitors stay.
Sellers, workers, and visitors can enter only after their body temperature is checked. Quarantine personnel will be stationed at four main entrances to disinfect the venue and check mask-wearing, and tables between sellers will be spaced more than 2 meters apart. Guidance staff will also be deployed to prevent crowding.
Gokseong-gun will also conduct pre- and post-event inspections to ensure compliance with outdoor COVID-19 quarantine rules.
The Ddukbang Market, held in Gokseong-gun, is Jeonnam's representative flea market, offering a variety of handmade crafts, food, and a peaceful riverside scenery, making it a pleasant place to visit like a day trip.
A representative of the Cooperative said, "Starting in the second half of the year, a direct agricultural product market will be newly introduced, allowing producers and consumers to meet directly. This ensures fair profits for farmers and enables consumers to purchase affordable and trustworthy agricultural products."
