Jokwang Paint Conducts Environmental Protection Plogging Challenge Picking Up Trash
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] Jokwang Paint announced on the 6th that it will conduct the '#Jokwang Paint Plogging Challenge' for environmental protection, following the announcement of the '2021 Color Mood Environmental Trend Color' themed 'The Only Earth.'
Participation in the challenge is possible until November 14, and participants can post photos of themselves practicing plogging during outdoor activities on the social networking service (SNS) Instagram with the event tag.
Plogging refers to an environmental movement where people pick up trash while running. As more people enjoy outdoor activities such as camping and hiking in cool weather, the places suffering from trash left behind by people have also increased. Jokwang Paint defines picking up trash as a 'small but significant action for the Earth' and planned the 'Jokwang Plogging Campaign.'
To encourage easy participation in environmental protection activities, Jokwang Paint will provide a plogging kit consisting of essential items to the first 100 applicants who submit their participation forms. The kit includes ▲KF94 mask ▲trash bags ▲tongs ▲gloves ▲eco-friendly multipurpose pouch, among others.
After the campaign ends, 40 participants will be selected by lottery to receive gifts. The gifts consist of eco-friendly products suitable for the purpose of the environmental protection campaign. These include ▲Clair Custom Paint Basic Kit for refurbishing and recycling old shoes or leather products ▲Minimal Works camping folding box made by upcycling waste plastic ▲Zero waste kit that does not produce disposable waste.
Earlier this year, Jokwang Paint raised awareness of environmental pollution by announcing the '2021 Color Mood Environmental Trend Color.' In August, together with the nonprofit organization We Save Oceans (WSO), they created large murals at two cafes in Jeju Island with the message 'Saving whales can reduce carbon dioxide (CO2), the cause of the climate crisis,' aiming to raise interest in whale protection and climate change. Additionally, they have been conducting various social contribution activities to overcome the climate crisis and protect the environment, such as creating cool roofs annually to prevent heat waves and reduce greenhouse gases.
