[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Cho Won-jin, leader of the Our Republican Party, has declared his candidacy for the presidential election.
On the morning of the 4th, Cho held a rally at Cheonggye Square in Jung-gu, Seoul, stating, "The free right-wing people will unite to achieve a regime change by dismantling the left-wing dictatorship, and we will surely accomplish a political revolution of truth with a clean force," expressing his intention to run for president.
He called the impeachment of former President Park Geun-hye illegal and described the candlelight protests as a coup, urging the consolidation of the so-called 'free right-wing' and 'patriotic conservatives.'
