[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 4th at 9 a.m. that the military communication lines between South and North Korea have been fully restored. However, it was confirmed that the North did not respond to test communications using the 'International Maritime Common Network.'
The Ministry of National Defense stated, "As of 9 a.m. on October 4, 2021, the military communication lines in the East and West Sea areas have been completely restored, and all functions have been normalized."

The Ministry of National Defense added, "However, the North did not respond to test communications using the 'International Maritime Common Network' conducted by our Navy patrol ships," and "Our side plans to continue attempts at test communications between South and North naval vessels via the 'International Maritime Common Network.'
