SK Inno Executives Visit the US to Find Talent: "Double R&D Workforce by 2023"
Kim Jun, President of SK Innovation, is introducing SK Innovation's financial story strategy and the company's future vision at the 'Global Forum' held in San Francisco, USA, on the 2nd (local time).

On the 2nd (local time), Kim Jun, CEO of SK Innovation, stated at the 'Global Forum' held in San Francisco, USA, "SK Innovation will further accelerate and increase the success potential of the 'Carbon to Green' strategy through internalizing technological capabilities, expanding R&D infrastructure, and promoting open innovation with external partners."
The Global Forum was organized to strengthen networks with excellent universities and research institutions in the United States and to discover global top talent. CEO Kim hosted the Global Forum locally in the U.S. to secure key talent.
CEO Kim emphasized, "To achieve innovation from carbon to green, it is important to secure technological capabilities in business areas that will become new growth engines, such as batteries and eco-friendly materials. For this, securing outstanding talent will be the most important task."
Although the Global Forum has been operated at the SK Group level until now, this year SK Innovation hosted it for the first time. SK Innovation plans to hold the Global Forum regularly starting with this year's event.
This year's Global Forum was attended by master's and doctoral students invited from 12 U.S. universities and research institutes, employees of global companies in the eco-friendly materials and battery business sectors, as well as executives including CEO Kim Jun, SK On CEO Ji Dongsup, Director of SK Innovation Environmental Science and Technology Institute Lee Seongjun, and Director of SK Innovation Battery Research Institute Lee Jangwon.
Ji, who has been leading SK On since the 1st, expressed his ambition, saying, "Based on securing professional talent, we will become a global top-tier battery company through deep changes in the battery business."

Director Lee Jangwon introduced SK Innovation's differentiated battery technology accumulated over more than 20 years. He said, "We will accelerate securing technological capabilities for SK On's new businesses such as battery recycling. For this, securing excellent talent is not optional but essential."
