Police Arrest 64 at Gangnam-Gu Host Bars... Customers Waiting Even at 1 AM
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Host bar employees and customers who violated quarantine rules and operated until dawn were caught in large numbers by the police.
Seoul Suseo Police Station announced that at around 1:15 a.m. on the 2nd, they arrested a total of 64 people, including the owner, 40 male hosts, and 23 female customers, at an underground host bar in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu.
The police conducted a stakeout and confirmed that the establishment was operating illegally. Together with the fire authorities, they forcibly opened the door and entered the premises to carry out the crackdown. The establishment operated by calling customers to a prearranged location in front of the Teheran-ro Financial Building, putting them into vehicles, and guiding them to the underground venue.
The establishment had 13 rooms and covered an area of 150 pyeong (approximately 496 square meters), and at the time of the crackdown, each room was filled with customers. It was also reported that there were customers waiting.

During the crackdown, one male host and one female customer who pushed police officers and refused to show identification were arrested on the spot for violating the Minor Offenses Act (obstruction of business), and all those caught were booked for violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
