SK Chemicals Sells Carbon Fiber Composite Material Business to Toray Advanced Materials
Sale Price Amounting to 33.1 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] SK Chemicals has sold its carbon fiber composite materials business to Toray Advanced Materials.
According to industry sources on the 1st, SK Chemicals recently transferred its carbon fiber composite materials business to Toray Advanced Materials for approximately 33.1 billion KRW. The two companies signed the deal in June and recently completed the sale process.
As a result, the SK Chemicals carbon fiber composite 'prepreg' production facilities in Ulsan and Qingdao, China, have all been transferred to Toray Advanced Materials. Prepreg is an intermediate material for carbon composites made by impregnating epoxy resin or thermoplastic resin into carbon fiber, mainly used in sports equipment and automotive parts.
