The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 1st that it has issued a public notice for selecting a new radio broadcasting operator in the Gyeonggi region and will accept new license applications until 6 p.m. on November 12.
According to the basic plan for the selection evaluation of the Gyeonggi region radio broadcasting operator, approved at the 41st full meeting of the Commission last month, the KCC plans to conduct the bidding based on strict evaluation criteria and procedures.
In this regard, an explanatory session will be held on the 7th for preliminary applicants. During this session, the evaluation criteria, instructions for filling out the license application, and a Q&A will be provided.

The KCC will form an evaluation committee composed of experts in relevant fields to ensure the selection of a radio broadcasting operator that meets policy goals such as ▲ securing diversity of public opinion and promoting local culture in the Gyeonggi region as a trusted local broadcaster, ▲ continuously producing and distributing community-based content through stable broadcasting operations, and ▲ enhancing the role and responsibilities of terrestrial radio broadcasting by adhering to public responsibility, fairness, and public interest.
