Lee Jun-seok "No Discussion on Expulsion of Kwak Sang-do at Late-Night Emergency Supreme Council Meeting"
Possibility of Taking a Step Back After Discussing the Title
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The People Power Party held an emergency Supreme Council meeting late at night on the 30th. It is known that the expulsion proposal for Assemblyman Kwak Sang-do was discussed, but Representative Lee Jun-seok explained that the discussion was related to the Daejang-dong TF.
After the Supreme Council meeting that day, Representative Lee said, "We held an emergency meeting because there were matters to discuss related to the Daejang-dong TF, but it seems that a certain Supreme Council member misunderstood," adding, "I don't know why it was reported that way."
He stated, "Due to urgent media reports related to the Daejang-dong TF and the recorded transcripts, I thought it was important to share the situation with the Supreme Council to check the status, so I shared what I knew," and added, "We exchanged opinions on the People Power Party's efforts to push for a special prosecution."
Initially, there were claims inside and outside the party that the issue of Assemblyman Kwak's expulsion was discussed at the Supreme Council meeting. For this reason, some analyses suggested that Representative Lee initially intended to discuss the expulsion proposal for Assemblyman Kwak but stepped back.
Earlier, in a radio interview, Representative Lee mentioned regarding Assemblyman Kwak's expulsion, "As the party leader, it is natural to express the will that it could go as far as expulsion," but also said, "It is necessary to persuade our party members who have worked with Assemblyman Kwak for a long time in legislative activities."

However, after the Supreme Council meeting, he said, "We are reviewing various procedures," and added, "I am also reviewing disciplinary proposals from the Ethics Committee, but since the Democratic Party submitted a disciplinary proposal to the Ethics Committee, we are in a situation where we cannot proceed with such procedures, so I have no particular position at the moment."
