Jeju Fire Department Holds 'Korea 119 Youth Corps Inauguration Ceremony'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Ko Jae-woo) announced on the 29th that it held the "Korea 119 Youth Corps Launch Ceremony," designating Sinjeju Elementary School (Principal Kim Hye-ja) as a pilot school for intensive fostering of the 119 Youth Corps.
The event was simplified to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The main agenda included ▲presentation of the pilot school designation plaque ▲support for 119 Youth Corps operational supplies ▲non-face-to-face fire safety education.
This year, the Korea 119 Youth Corps Jeju Fire Station branch consists of a total of 5 teams (Sinjeju Elementary School, Wollang Elementary School, Dori Elementary School, Yeondong Kindergarten, Bitgwa Sogeum Regional Child Center) with 5 supervising teachers and 113 members.
The members will actively participate in various education and campaign activities aimed at fire prevention and spreading a culture of safety together with their supervising teachers.
Chief Ko Jae-woo said, "I hope the Korea 119 Youth Corps members grow into healthy children and youth who prioritize safety," and added, "We will continue to provide fire safety education and various fire safety services to the 119 Youth Corps members."
