Suncheon-si Conducts Special Crackdown on Illegal Harvesting of Forest Products in Autumn

This crackdown aims to raise awareness of illegal activities through joint efforts by Suncheon City and the town and village officials, including resident publicity and active guidance and enforcement activities, with the goal of eradicating illegal acts through strict law enforcement.
The targets of the crackdown include illegal dumping and burning of waste, unauthorized conversion of forest land, unauthorized movement of pine trees, etc. In particular, there will be a focus on cracking down on illegal harvesting of forest products such as wild vegetables, wild herbs, and mushrooms.
Harvesting forest products such as wild vegetables and medicinal herbs within forests requires the consent of the forest owner, and violations are punishable by up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 50 million won according to relevant laws.
