Expansion of Local Company Participation in Infrastructure Construction at Incheon Songdo 11-1 District
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The participation of construction companies and workforce from the Incheon region is expected to increase in the infrastructure construction of Zone 11-1 in Songdo International City, Incheon Free Economic Zone.
On the 28th, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a 'Win-Win Agreement for Revitalizing the Local Construction Industry' at Songdo G Tower, attended by Director Lee Won-jae, the contractors DL E&C and Ssangyong Engineering & Construction for Zone 11-1 in Songdo, and officials from the Incheon branch of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association.
According to the agreement, these organizations will make every effort to involve Incheon-based construction companies, use local materials and equipment, and hire local workforce in the infrastructure construction of Songdo Zone 11-1.
Lee Won-jae, Director of the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "We expect active cooperation from the contractors in the spirit of coexistence with Incheon companies facing difficulties."

Meanwhile, to meet the increasing land demand and revitalize the industrial complex, a total project cost of 825.9 billion KRW is being invested in building infrastructure such as roads, water supply pipelines, and retention basins in Songdo Zone 11-1, with completion scheduled by 2025.
